Mario Kart Advance

Possibly the best launch title for GBA yet (if it makes launch that is) Mario Kart Advance combines aspects of the previous SNES & N64 Mario Karts & fits in the palm of your hand. 'Nuff said!

The gamelist at gameboyadvanced.com notes all of the games they preview have no US release date “but sure as a Wario guffaw you can bet Mario Kart Advance will come out stateside.” I voted for it anyway. Like with F-Zero –who doesn’t want Mario Kart Advance? Mario Kart 64 was reason enough to buy an N64 and the newest handheld installment looks to be a beautiful hybrid of both the SNES classic and the N64 update, sans the 3D.

It is undoubtedly the perfect launch title for GBA and if there’s anyway the game connects to a GameCube version of the game, NGC systems will fly off the shelf as surely as the GBA & MKA will. We’re still hoping for hidden characters (hey, if F-Zero has ‘em), but not holding our breath… Even as is, the game looks great, full of details (including another sneak peek at Luigi’s Mansion) and will certainly have all the classic gameplay.

Then there’s the small detail that this Mario Kart not only includes 4 player gameplay, it will have online multiplayer as well (let it be the first of many GBA games to feature this). Because of the online fuctions, it may not make the Japanese GBA launch. Either way, I hope my voting for this game sufficiently indicates my desire for Nintendo to include online play in the North American release of the game.
