Golden Sun

An RPG from Camelot that looks incredible and will feature online multiplay. Golden Sun is a shoe-in for U.S. release but vote for it anyway.

I just finished Ogre Battle 64 and I now have one serious RPG-jones. Plus my PSX broke, woe is me. Camelot are steadily becoming one of my favorite game makers with Mario Golf and Mario Tennis under their belts. I just recently found out that the company cut their teeth on RPGs years ago with the Shining Force series. Since I never played those games, I’m very, very interested in seeing these RPG veterans cook up something for GBA. Lord knows, handheld RPGs can be a godsend. Thankfully, Final Fantasy Legend on Gameboy completely prevented any occurrence of my own demented head bobbing version of “Kuru Kuru” when my family drove to Califonia. No, Camelot didn’t make that, Square did, but they’re not the only ones who can make RPGs.

Graphically, Golden Sun looks almost like a PSX RPG more than something from the SNES. This is one I’d be happy to tote around and hope it doesn’t get overlooked for US release. As an RPG game, the language barrier would make it almost worthless to import. Nintendo + RPGs = Good. You know it’s true, especially when this RPG is another GBA title with four-player multiplay & possible online functions. That’s one Golden Sun indeed.
