E3 2005 Award (no border)

Nintendo's Zelda Sub-Booth

While Nintendo’s regular booth was just fine and dandy, packed to the brim with tons of new games to play, it was the specially created Zelda "fun house" that was our favorite part of E3. If you could stand the four hour line to get in, there was lots of fun to be had inside. The booth was split into a forest and a dungeon, and both were stocked with interactive exhibits. The forest sported a cushy floor and a very cool interactive (virtual) lake. The dungeon had a massive Stalfos puppet, as well as a Wolf Link puppet, plus it was splattered with blood. To top it all off, there was a guy dressed as Link walking around.

"The Zelda booth wasn't much better than a great haunted house, but I've seen some great haunted houses. The giant puppet skeleton and wolf definitely made the booth. I wonder if anyone else noticed the projected wooden bridge over a pond of fish on the ground." - David Trammell

"Nobody expects the Hyrulean Exhibition!" - Michael "TYP" Cole

"After the plain DS area of last year, I was totally surprised by the atmosphere in Nintendo's Zelda booth. It was spooky in there!" - Jonathan Metts

" A live-action Stalfos, a wolf prowling the walls, an interactive image of a bridge on the floor - this booth had it all. There's a reason why people were waiting five hours to get in, and it wasn't just the game. It was a damn cool booth." - Jonathan Lindemann

"Of course it was the best booth, I got my picture with Link!" - Mike Sklens
