The game's lead designer shoots down reports that Galleon is confirmed for GameCube, but does not deny the possibility.
Although GameSpot VG reported the other day Galleon was confirmed by Interplay as a GameCube launch title (and the story was NOT reported as rumor), Confounding Factor's Toby Gard has denied it. In a statement to CVG, he says:
"That hasn’t been confirmed...It’s true that we want to put it on everything if we can, but at the moment it all depends on the paperwork. We’d certainly like to do a Gamecube version, but we can’t say for 100 percent at the moment. The way we’re working Galleon should mean that we’ll be able to port the game to whichever platform we please."
CVG also notes that lead programmer Paul Douglas, also a Tomb Raider veteran, has left Confounding Factor "to move onto other things", according to Gard.
