A few Dolphin bits from Miyamoto.

Not a lot of news but at least Miyamoto is talking a bit! Here are a few bit's from Fastest Game News Online concerning the Dolphin. Are you concerned? Not me :)

The legendary creator of Mario was only available for select interviews during the show. In talks he discussed the nature of future gaming and his contribution to it, taking care to stress the importance of low-cost gaming.

He was keen to stress that good games do not necessarily require great power. Miyamoto told journalists that creativity and innovation are just as important to gaming as a powerful platform to run them on.

"A game is essentially a toy. We have to always remember that," he said via a translator. "You don't have to have a huge comsole to create a great game," he added. Pointing out that although next generation platforms do allow game creators greater range and license to produce games, he observed that power is not a guarantee of quality. With a comparison of games to toys he indicated that imagination is often as important as anything is in gaming.

This line is likely to become mantra for Nintendo, as it attempts to position the competition's new machines as overblown and overpriced.

And here's the second story they posted...

Nintendo spokespeople were careful not to name any particular brand but it takes little imagination to make your own mind up. Discussing the Dolphin announcement regarding embedded chip technology one Nintendo of America representative chortled, "Its good to make them wake-up and take notice with stuff like this. They'll be wishing they could do it. We're making a quality next-generation console at an economy price."

When pressed on the Dreamcast the same representative, who didn't want to be named, said "When you look at Donkey Kong 64 compared to what they're showcasing it doesn't bode well, they'll probably have a good Fall then not much else." When directly questioned on the competition he answered "It's a two-horse race we're not considering any other console as next-gen."
