"SEGA Sports NFL 2K3" wins Best Sports Game "Super Monkey Ball 2" wins Best
Puzzle/Trivia/Parlor Game
SAN FRANCISCO - (June 19, 2002) - Building upon its reputation for creating
the best video game content, SEGA(R) of America, Inc. today announced "SEGA
Sports(TM) NFL 2K3" won Best Sports Game and "Super Monkey Ball(TM) 2" won
Best Puzzle/Trivia/Parlor Game in the "Game Critics Awards: Best of E3
2002," the independent E3 awards committee recognizing excellence at the
Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3). Additionally, SEGA's 2002 lineup
continues to receive industry accolades following E3 with Associate Chairman
of the Game Critics Awards, Geoff Keighley, calling SEGA "without a doubt
one of the most important third-party publishers" and the Dallas Morning
News stating that "SEGA had the best showing among the publishers" at E3
2002.
SEGA games have also received awards from leading video game industry Web
sites and publications. "SEGA Sports NFL 2K3" was also voted the Best
Sports Game on PlayStation(R)2 and Xbox(TM) by IGN.com. "Panzer Dragoon(TM)
ORTA" was voted among the top 10 games at E3 2002 by Electronic Gaming
Monthly and voted among the top five Xbox games of E3 2002 by GameSpot.com.
