SEGA SHIPS 'SUPER MONKEY BALL ADVENTURE' FOR THE PLAYSTATION®2 AND NINTENDO GAMECUBE
AiAi and the Entire Monkey Gang Star in Their First Platforming
Adventure
SAN FRANCISCO (August 1, 2006) – SEGA® of America, Inc. today
announced that Super Monkey Ball Adventure™ has shipped in North
America for the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system and
Nintendo GameCube™. Super Monkey Ball Adventure is an all-new
platform-based journey through five amazing worlds filled with puzzles
and quests. Classic Super Monkey Ball gameplay is bolstered by a chant
system that allows the monkeys to render themselves invisible to
enemies, hover over terrain, and even transform their energy balls
into wood and float on water or be set on fire to overcome obstacles.
The three lively new party games and 50 colorful new puzzle games
ensure that the bold new direction of Super Monkey Ball Adventure
retains its links to the beloved heritage of the franchise.
“Super Monkey Ball is one of SEGA’s most popular and successful
franchises," said Scott A. Steinberg, Vice President of Marketing,
SEGA of America, Inc. “Super Monkey Ball Adventure introduces gamers
to four new islands of AiAi’s home world for an exciting gameplay
experience that’s all-new to the series while incorporating the puzzle
levels and mini-games that have defined the franchise and made it
popular."
Super Monkey Ball Adventure is the first platform adventure for AiAi
and an all-new cast of monkey friends. The story begins when Prince
Abe-abe and Princess DeeDee of opposing kingdoms fall in love but are
forbidden from marrying. All five of the Monkey World kingdoms are
plagued by misunderstanding and suspicion brought on by the gloomy
Naysayers who are sucking the joy from the primates’ cheerful world.
It’s up to AiAi and his friends to travel through five unique worlds
to restore happiness and defeat the evil Naysayers so that the happy
couple can live happily ever after.
Rated “E" for Everyone by the Entertainment Software Review Board,
Super Monkey Ball Adventure for the PlayStation 2 and GameCube is
available at retailers nationwide for an MSRP of $39.95.
