Panasonic displays its ultra-expensive memory device. But don't worry--the price bound to go down.

Curious about the possibilities involved in using the 64MB SD card for GameCube? Panasonic has a nifty little website telling all about the new technology. Notable tidbits include the current price of a 64MB card...a whopping $180 US! Either Nintendo is counting on these things getting cheap pretty fast, or they're not really positioning SD as the rewritability savior that we all want it to be. You can also check out some of the planned SD-compatible devices, including digital music players, digital cameras, and an internet microwave oven?!? Could be a good sign of what devices will be used to import data into NGC games...the digital camera, especially. Thanks to our forum readers for telling us about this site!
