Planet GameCube's E3 2002 Thank yous!

David Trammell's thank yous

by the NWR Staff - May 31, 2002, 1:34 pm EDT

  • Billy for his unbelievable dedication to the site. Billy gives

everything to the site from blood, sweat, tears, time, money and so much

more. PGC would simply not be possible for a number of reasons without

    Billy Berghammer.

  • Jonathan Metts for pointing me towards PlanetN2000 in early 2001, Max Lake for convincing Billy to hire me, and Billy for not laughing at the idea.

  • Rick Powers for lending his laptop to staff use and abuse throughout E3.

  • Adam and the rest of PGC E3 Camera Crew for filming games while everyone else plays them.

  • The home team (primarily Mike H.) for covering our asses!

  • Nintendo for giving us something worth

    covering every year.

  • Shigeru Miyamoto: do I even need a reason? How about a new Mario and Zelda game playable at the same E3? How about 20

years worth of fantastic games? I'll stop now.

  • Nintendo for playing absurdly loud bass oriented music for twenty or thirty minutes before their preshow started. I don't think I've ever had a head ache for that

    long in my entire life.

  • Activision for publishing True Crime on all

consoles simultaneously... this game looks so awesome.

  • Nalin Sharma from puzzlekings for personally showing me how to play the excellent

    ZooCube.

  • Sega for making a sequel to the BEST GAME EVAR (Super Monkey Ball 2 for the thick-headed).

  • Eidos/Free Radical Designs for porting

    Time Splitters 2 to GameCube.

  • Rare for making (as usual) the most

graphically impressive game on whatever console they happen to be

    working on.

  • Retro and Nintendo for somehow not screwing up Metroid Prime.

  • THQ for not having Toxic Grind playable on GameCube.

  • Darek Connole from Activision for fitting us into his obviously busy schedule.

  • Nintendo for having a great contest in their booth at least two years in a row.

  • The proprieters of our hotel for

being nice to us even though our reserved-early-group-rate was less than

50% of what it would have cost for someone to walk in and rent a room.

  • To the LA Convention Center for providing meals of relatively poor quality for the low, low price of over ten dollars.

  • Whoever stole my Doom III poster from under the first player position of the left-most Zelda 4 Swords kiosk at the end of the third day.

  • WindyMan for the Pikmin poster while we're on the subject.

  • Various PGC staffers for not laughing at my game.

  • The inventor of Sake.

  • United Airlines for playing A Beautiful Mind on the flight home.

  • Exhibits Only Badgeholders for making E3 about ten times more crowded than it would be otherwise.

  • Daniel Bloodworth for handling the Star Wars thing.

  • TYP, Adam, Daniel and Joshums for lending their vehicles at various times.

  • Prime Time Shuttle for not getting me killed two years in a row despite the fact

that your drivers are COMPLETELY INSANE

  • The PGC staff for kicking my ass in Smash Bros, Samba and just about everything else I played (other than Super Monkey Ball). Just wait until we play Time Splitters 2 next year...

  • Our readers! (some of whom were Exhibits Only Badgeholders : ) as much as I enjoy writing for PGC, there wouldn't be much of a point without the readers.
